Shout Out To Brewmaster Jon Carpenter at Atwater's Golden Road

Zagat came out with their 30 Under 30: LA's Hottest Up-and-Comers, and Atwater Village once again shows you who's boss (as in cool).

Why he made the list: Carpenter may be the only artisan brewmaster in America to have actually worked for beer giant Anheuser-Busch - he managed the brewing process at their three-million-barrel production facility in Merrimack, NH. He was also a brewing ambassador for Budweiser. But his taste in working outside the box can be found in his college degrees - both a BA in political science and a BS in food science and technology from the University of California at Davis. And he found his love of small-batch brewing as assistant brewmaster for Dogfish Head Craft Brewery - a love that carried him down LA's Golden Road.
